Foggy Day on a Mountaintop

So, 19 years ago my friend Jason & I decided, on a whim, to climb to the top of Stone Mountain.  In the rain.  In February.  I guess we were feeling particularly young and stupid, but we sure did have fun.  Well, over the years we had out ins and outs, we talked and we didn’t talk, I moved away and married, he moved away and dated, etc., etc., etc.  Then, a few years ago, I came back.  And the universe plopped us in each others lives yet again.

So, on a whim, we decided yesterday to climb to the top of Stone Mountain.  In the rain.  In February.

It was as much of an adventure this time as it was nearly 20 years ago, though getting to the top felt a little harder this time.  🙂  It was a gloriously foggy day on top, with visibility down to about 50′.  The fog was heavy and dense and made everything very quiet.  We were the only two on the top so the silence was absolute.  It was spectacular.
