Rare Glimpse Inside…

The Asa Candler mansion on Briarcliff Road in Atlanta, GA.  This mansion was built in 1922 by Asa Griggs “Buddy” Candler, Jr., the eccentric son of Asa Griggs Candler, co-founder of Coca-Cola.  In the 50’s it was turned into an alcohol treatment center and some obvious changes were made to the interior.  The property now belongs to Emory University and sits, unused and untouched.  We were given a rare opportunity of 2 hours inside to shoot.

One word for you:  dark.

All the windows on the first floor are completely boarded over.  As such, I was THRILLED to have my tripod there and ready to go.  A few of my shots in the music room took 6 second exposures.  SIX.  SECONDS.  Count that out on your fingers while thinking about your shutter being open that entire time.

Yeah.

Here are a few of the results.  For the rest, please visit my gallery on my website.
